Marshalls is closing in Back Bay — and Wayfair’s first showroom could take its place
The TJX Cos. will close its Marshalls
location in Boston’s Back Bay in early June, a company spokesperson has
confirmed to the Business Journal, and a first-of-its-kind store could
take its place.
Online furniture retailer intends to open its first brick-and-mortar showroom at 500
Boylston St. in the Marshalls space, Newmark Knight Frank retail broker Ted Chryssicas said at the firm’s annual Top O’ The Market event last week. The store would likely accompany Wayfair’s anticipated 400,000-square-foot office expansion at 500 Boylston St. and 222 Berkeley St., two connected Back Bay towers owned by Toronto-based Oxford Properties Group.. . . more
