This year for Christmas, bricks will beat the clicks—at least, according to the latest JLL survey.
While nearly half (44%) of surveyed shoppers said they'll definitely shop online for gifts, the majority of respondents plan on visiting at least one store. And 64% said they will definitely visit a superstore like Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.and Target Corp.
"The biggest takeaway for us this year is that people are always going to shop in brick and mortar," Greg Maloney, CEO of JLL's retail sector in the Americas, told TheStreet Thursday, Nov. 1. The numbers for online shoppers, he told TheStreet correlate with that of catalog shoppers in the 1970s and 1980s.. . . more
