Here’s the first glimpse at the future of Southie’s Boston Edison plant
After a uniquely robust pre-file public discussion period, the development team behind South Boston’s Edison Power plant revitalization has officially filed documentation with the city of Boston kicking off the project’s development review.
letter of intent, filed Monday with the Boston Planning &
Development Agency, proposes partial demolition and re-use of the
existing power plant and building eight new structures over the next 10
to 15 years. All told, the project would span a combined 2.1 million
square feet of residential, office, hotel, retail, restaurant and other
commercial uses, along with parking, project manager Ralph Cox of Redgate Real Estate wrote in the letter.. . . more
