Stop & Shop wants to turn its Allston market into a giant mixed-use complex

The newly rebranded New Balance Athletics Inc. showed off its world headquarters, the first completed building at the expansive Boston Landing campus on the edge of the Allston-Brighton neighborhood line. The 250,000-square-foot headquarters at 100 Guest St. hosts 600 New Balance corporate employees.Stop & Shop has plans to develop a new residential neighborhood on the Allston/Brighton line, according to a letter of intent filed Friday at the Boston Planning and Development Agency.

In the filing, the New England-based grocery chain outlined plans to redevelop its existing store at 60 Everett St. in Allston and build a combined 1,010 residential units, Class A office space and ground-floor retail and restaurant space.. . . more
