High Street Retail Is Dead. Long Live High Street Retail.

According to Anil Gandharve, Sales Head of Europe at Mindtree, a technology services company, online stores might be gaining market share from the high street shops since their invention, however, that’s hardly a reason to worry.

“Physical stores are now more than stores — they are bridges between the consumers and brands,” he said.

Despite the headlines, up to 95% of retail sales are captured by the companies who have traditional high street shops, according to the management consulting firm ATKearney. The majority of those sales today do still take place in physical stores as the customers still value good advice from in-store advisors.. . . more
