Are Retail Stores, Drive-Through Pickup Key To Amazon's Growth?

More physical stores are part of Amazon's future. (Jaap Arriens/NurPhoto/Sipa USA/Newscom) Indications that Amazon is deploying plans where customers can order groceries online and pick them up at a company facility could add billions in revenue to the e-commerce giant, says Pacific Crest Securities.

Amazon also reportedly plans to open dozens of small retail storefronts in shopping malls over the next year, designed to showcase its hardware devices, such as the Kindle and Amazon Echo. It follows the opening of an Amazon bookstore in Seattle last year. Amazon has since opened book stores in San Diego and Portland, with reports of another one coming in Chicago..
