Somerville mayor bets on appeal of Wynn permit

Steve Wynn’s targeted 2019 opening for his Ever­ett casino may be too opti­mistic, said Somerville Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, who has appealed a key environmental permit for the gaming palace on the banks of the Mystic River.

“I guess he is a confident guy, he’s had it easy here, we’ll see,” Curtatone said yesterday on Herald Radio, adding he has “no idea” where Wynn came up with the time frame for opening the $2 billion entertainment complex. “He’s used to getting what he wants, we are used to fighting for what’s right.”. . . more
