A court filing by Framingham’s Staples Inc. and Office Depot Inc. appears to refute a New York Post report this week that Amazon.com Inc. may buy Office Depot’s corporate business unit in a deal that could pave the way for FTC approval of a proposed $6.3 billion Staples-Office Depot merger.
The online retail giant’s Amazon Business division
is the “800-pound gorilla” that, in part, has “transformed the
marketplace and intensified competition,” Staples and Office Depot said
in a court document filed Wednesday to argue their opposition to the
Federal Trade Commission’s request for a preliminary injunction to stop
