Dunkin’ faces challenges from McDonald's all-day breakfast, other offerings

Dunkin’ Donuts is under renewed pressure in the U.S., facing competition sparked by McDonald’s all-day breakfast campaign and the resulting "price war."

CEO and chairman Nigel Travis told analysts Thursday after its latest quarterly financial results were released that Dunkin’ Brands is pressing ahead with its turnaround efforts, but it is still facing some challenges. Its fourth quarter may have been a manifestation of those ongoing problems, with comparable store sales down 0.8 percent in the U.S., compared to the same quarter last year.. . . more
